Project Fast Fish

Our owner had long dreamed of building a classic Mopar to rival the Chevys in Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car. While there have been several Pro Touring Mopars, few have truly hit the track and taken the abuse. When this AAR ‘Cuda came to us as part of a package deal, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to create something extraordinary. Although it was a factory AAR, the car wasn’t numbers-matching. A friend restoring a Challenger T/A used many of the key AAR/Challenger T/A parts from this car to complete his build. With the original components removed, we sent the ‘Cuda to SpeedTech Performance in St. George, Utah.

SpeedTech had been considering expanding their high-end Pro Touring suspension solutions to the Mopar market but needed the right platform to start. Our AAR ‘Cuda gave them the perfect testbed. They developed their ExtReme suspension system for this build, including a custom front subframe that allows the ‘Cuda to run 315-wide front tires with 30 degrees of steering—unmatched in the market. We also chose their award-winning ExtReme IRS for the rear, balancing on-track performance with street comfort.

This project had to be something truly special. Modifying a real AAR wasn’t a decision we took lightly, but we were committed to honoring its racing heritage. Even down to the logo, we customized a factory Hellcat emblem to resemble the fish the ‘Cuda was named after—thus, Project Fast Fish was born.

We knew the car needed the right powerplant. Thanks to our friend at Steve White Motors, we secured one of the first Hellcat Redeye crate engines available, delivering 810 horsepower. Later, we rebuilt the engine with forged internals and increased the boost by a few pounds, unlocking even more power.

The result is exactly what we envisioned: a turnkey, head-turning Mopar that dominates on the road course, drag strip, and street. It’s the ultimate all-around muscle car, equally at home on the track or at car shows, where the fit and finish never fail to impress. And with A/C onboard, it's ready to tackle even the hottest Texas days.
